Hi... I am JD, veteran ball player on the 65+ Athletics. It's been a difficult road for me to get back on a baseball field, not to mention, rebuild a life after two severe Hemoragic strokes and losing everything I ever worked for in the aftermath and abandonment of Covid.
Guys,
We are working to create a short (6 game) fall ball season with games during
the week.
If you are interested, please reach out to James Jones for details.
Quick Details:
There will be a reduced National Fee for non-2024 rostered KCMSB players.

Long time MSBL pitcher Ryan Dunham won his 300th career men's league game this past Sunday. Current associate Commissioner Danny Holmes was the catcher for this historic moment. While all 300 were not won in the MSBL we recognize this achievement by Ryan through his love and commitment to the game we all play. The majority of us have played with or against Ryan at some point in our careers and he is known as a great teammate and competitor to many. Here are the breakdown of his wins per league he has been in:
KCMSBL - 136
KCNABA - 128
Mexican League - 36
If you see Ryan out on the field be sure to congratulate him on this accomplishment. We all look forward to career win number 400 Ryan!
A majority of August games have been rescheduled to 8pm games and utilizing multiple fields. This move is to avoid any more cancellations due to heat. Please check the website for your updated schedule.

TO: All Managers and Division Directors
RE: Play-off Rosters
Gentlemen:
It is that time of the year. PLAY-OFF ROSTER TIME.
While additions/subtractions can occur after this roster is submitted, the roster which I am asking
you to submit is the roster that has players who have paid their national dues and are on your
current roster.
Please submit your roster IMMEDIATELY to me at kcmsbl1@gmail.com
James Jones has also requested the roster. If you haved submitted to him, that is okay, too, but
still send me a note.
Thanks for your cooperation again in 2024. We are all looking forward to an exciting stretch run
and a great play-off in each division.
If you have specific questions or comments, please contact your league director. If you are still
not satisfied with his response, please contact me at kcmsbl1@gmail.com .
Respectfully,
Mike Holmes
Commissioner, KCMSBL

Congrats to the NEW RECORD HOLDERS of the Longest Game Played
Scott Reinardy and Jerry Weaver lead 60 players in 100 hours of baseball this past weekend at Macken Park. While we are waiting for the OFFICAL Guiness Book of World Records acclamation, the KCMSBL salutes all of the guys who gave up their Labor Day weekend to not only break the WORLD RECORD but also raise money for charity.
It was an incredible effort by Scott, Jerry, and all the guys. Well done.

Last night a couple of our players received $75 tickets (for drinking beer in the MASC baseball parking lot).
Apparently this is the Park Rangers way of thanking us for the business!
To all KC MSBL players - just a note on the upcoming season. When you play on an artificial turf field, metal spikes are not allowed. This season at MASC the mounds will be turf, so pitchers may not wear metal cleats.
35+ Charlie Holmes League - scheduling change. The Braves will not be having a team this season so the posted May schedule will be changing.
Check out this story that appeared in the Wall Street Journal on 10/27/21:
Bill Lee played in the 1975 World Series—and, at 74, is in another one.

New this year, the league website can now accept credit card payments for individual players league fees.

DBATS promotion for KCMSBL players
Both the National and local MSBL rules require all players to have a photo ID with them - in order to participate in games.
Failure to provide an ID when asked for by the opposing manager could result in a suspension or forfeit.
The request to see a players ID should go through the home plate umpire. If that doesn't happen - the league office.
A player has 24 hours to produce a current driver's license. No driver's license - that players team loses the game!
Gentlemen,
We have been playing with the artificial mounds all season. You know the rule: NO STEEL CLEATS while pitching on artificial mounds.
Unfortunately, it seems that some of our players think they must be exempt from this requirement.
To help remind everyone and reinforce the rule, I am instructing umpires to immediately eject any offender of this rule. The umpire will then inform the league office and said ejected player will serve a 5 game suspension.
Additionally, his team manager will also serve a three game suspension. If the offending player is the manager, he will serve a total of 8 games suspension. There will be no appeal or modification, for any reason.
