Meet the Artist Day - JD

Hi... I am JD, veteran ball player on the 65+ Athletics. It's been a difficult road for me to get back on a baseball field, not to mention, rebuild a life after two severe Hemoragic strokes and losing everything I ever worked for in the aftermath and abandonment of Covid.

I share this small snapshot of my road back, as testimony of why I am so proud, So BLESSED and Happy to share my passions with you and all the guys in the KCMSBL, hoping for your support by inviting you ALL to stop by All month long, Great Food and Amazing Brews, but specifically on September 18th,  6-7pm "Meet the Artist Day" at TRANSPARENT BREWING COMPANY and CHIVE Cafe in Grandview,  where I have taken over their walls with my Baseball Artistry. Everything from Negro Leagues greats to today's Superstars, it is my small way of thanking the KC community and introduce myself to my new community.

Hope you can share my request far and wide, but mostly, HOPE to see you guys there! Thank you for making Baseball Artistry for so many of us a reality, Everyday!

Sincerely
JD
Thank you!

CONGRATS to Ryan Dunham for winning his 300th career Men's League game

Long time MSBL pitcher Ryan Dunham won his 300th career men's league game this past Sunday. Current associate Commissioner Danny Holmes was the catcher for this historic moment. While all 300 were not won in the MSBL we recognize this achievement by Ryan through his love and commitment to the game we all play. The majority of us have played with or against Ryan at some point in our careers and he is known as a great teammate and competitor to many. Here are the breakdown of his wins per league he has been in:

KCMSBL - 136

KCNABA - 128

Mexican League - 36

If you see Ryan out on the field be sure to congratulate him on this accomplishment. We all look forward to career win number 400 Ryan!

The 100th Inning Trailer (OFFICIAL)

Baseball is Back! Watch the

100th Inning on Prime Video

Hi there!

It is Alex Koppelman from the Boston Metro Baseball League. I'm getting in touch to share our documentary "the 100th Inning.” What better way to get pumped for a new season than watching a great baseball movie. This heartwarming documentary invites you into the dugout for a journey through the 100 Innings Game, where players persevere over 30 hours of non-stop baseball to rally against Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS).

Stream it on Amazon Prime Video!

Thanks to events like the 100 innings of baseball, researchers in Boston are on the brink of a cure for ALS and I’m reaching out for your support!

Here's how you can help:

1. Share the Film: Inspire your players by sharing "The 100th Inning" with them. The movie is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video (linked here). Be sure to rate the movie and leave a review.

2. Host a Screening: Consider hosting a screening for your league members to come together, celebrate the power of baseball, and raise awareness to beat Lou Gehrig's Disease. We'll assist in finding a local ALS organization to partner with for the event.

3. Donate: Make a difference by donating to ALS research. You can donate to the Angel Fund (our local partner) or an ALS organization in your area. Running for twenty years in a row, the 100 innings game has raised nearly one million dollars for ALS research.

4. Follow us: Get the inside scoop by following the100th Inning on Instagram for behind-the-scenes footage, bonus material, and bloopers!

Let's team up to make a difference! Send us an email at the100thinning@gmail.com and let’s discuss the possibilities. See the links below for more details:

Best regards,

Alex Koppelman

New Record for the Longest Baseball Game Ever Played!

Congrats to the NEW RECORD HOLDERS of the Longest Game Played

Scott Reinardy and Jerry Weaver lead 60 players in 100 hours of baseball this past weekend at Macken Park. While we are waiting for the OFFICAL Guiness Book of World Records acclamation, the KCMSBL salutes all of the guys who gave up their Labor Day weekend to not only break the WORLD RECORD but also raise money for charity.

It was an incredible effort by Scott, Jerry, and all the guys. Well done.

DON'T GO SOFT, PLAY HARDBALL!

Heads Up - Park Police Are Issuing Tickets at MASC

Last night a couple of our players received $75 tickets (for drinking beer in the MASC baseball parking lot).

Apparently this is the Park Rangers way of thanking us for the business!

KC MSBL Notes - No metal spikes on turf fields

To all KC MSBL players - just a note on the upcoming season. When you play on an artificial turf field, metal spikes are not allowed. This season at MASC the mounds will be turf, so pitchers may not wear metal cleats.

35+ Charlie Holmes League - scheduling change. The Braves will not be having a team this season so the posted May schedule will be changing.

KC MSBL Players Must Have Photo ID's to Play

Both the National and local MSBL rules require all players to have a photo ID with them - in order to participate in games.

Failure to provide an ID when asked for by the opposing manager could result in a suspension or forfeit.

The request to see a players ID should go through the home plate umpire. If that doesn't happen - the league office.

A player has 24 hours to produce a current driver's license. No driver's license - that players team loses the game!

No Metal Spikes on the Turf - Please!

Gentlemen,

We have been playing with the artificial mounds all season. You know the rule: NO STEEL CLEATS while pitching on artificial mounds.

Unfortunately, it seems that some of our players think they must be exempt from this requirement.

To help remind everyone and reinforce the rule, I am instructing umpires to immediately eject any offender of this rule. The umpire will then inform the league office and said ejected player will serve a 5 game suspension.

Additionally, his team manager will also serve a three game suspension. If the offending player is the manager, he will serve a total of 8 games suspension. There will be no appeal or modification, for any reason.
