This is a special time in our league’s history.
For over 30 years now, our league has been planning and playing the game we love so much. In the KCMSBL’s history, there has only been one other time we have changed a league name to honor an individual. My family appreciated the gesture then as we still do – of course, I am speaking of the Charlie Holmes League.
While there have been many guys who have contributed with passion to our league, I can think of no one individual who gave as much as Scottie. He worked tirelessly to make us all better…better teammates, better organizers, better promoters, and - better beer drinkers!
It is indeed with great honor that we now reach out to Scottie’s family and friends and teammates, and ask them to all join us in this first pitch celebration of the 2019 Scottie Matteson Baseball League.
